Yorkshire Guide - main picture
My site, my views. Unofficial, unfunded and occasionally unorthodox. Enjoy!

Cayton Bay

Cayton Bay lies just to the South of Scarborough on the road to Filey. There's a nice little beach just over the road (and down the cliffs!) from the park, and all-in-all it's a nice enough base for a family holiday. There's a nice indoor pool and if you crave a little more excitement then all that Scarborough has to offer is a few minutes drive away. It's also on the Cleveland Way, so you can walk up and down the coast for miles in either direction.

Primrose Valley

Primrose Valley is the biggest, brightest and best of the holiday parks on the Yorkshire Coast. Just to the South of Filey, it's right on the coast between Filey and The Bay. There's direct access to the beach, and if you like a good walk you can stroll sown the beach to Filet - so in terms of location it's pretty good.

The site itself is run by Haven with all that implies - you either love 'em or hate 'em.  There's fast food outlets galore, swimming pool, amusements, pedalos, playgrounds, games and everything else you'd expect.

Overall - a great option if you have small kids. Click here to visit the Primrose Valley website.

Reighton Sansa

Another Haven site, but very different from Primrose Valley.

Reighton Sands is located much further down Filey Bay, in a far quieter location. And the location is the key point here, because it's perched on the cliff top with a marvelous view.

Blue Dolphin

The final one of Haven's Yorkshire parks. But last doesn't mean least. Blue Dolphin is a four star park just outside Scarborough.

This is a nice central location on the coast, making it easy to explore Whitby and the North York Moors to the North, or The Wolds to the South. It's quite high up which makes it a bit more exposed than the parks near Filey, so personally speaking, if I had to plump for any of then it's be Primrose Valley.
