Helicopter flights Yorkshire
Helicopter flights are amazing experiences, particularly as so few people have ever flown in one. Some helicopter flights allow you to pick your own
route, other helicopter rides let you fly over your own house or your favourite dale. Others fly over pre-arranges routes in Yorkshire like the dambusters helicopter flight that goes over Derwentwater. Or perhaps even have a trial
helicopter flying lesson. Available from most Yorkshire airports
Emmerdale Helicopter Flight
By far the most popular helicopter flight experience this year has been the helicopter flight over Emmerdale. Covering some of Yorkshire's finest countryside, the flight goes over the Harewood estate where the third Emmerdale
village is located and then goes over the vale of York. Seeing York from a helicopter is amazing, and you have to see it from the air to appreciate just how much York Minster dominates the skyline.
The original Emmerdale village was of course Arncliffe in Littondale, but that was very inconvenient as it's a long drive from Leeds where Yorkshire TV are based, so it then moved to Esholt between Leeds and Beadford. Esholt
lasted for a good few years before the show moved to the current Emmerdale at Harewood.
Dambusters Helicopter Flight
The second most popular flight is the Dambusters trip. This actually flies over Ladybower, so it's not actually in Yorkshire, but as it's near Sheffield and supplies Sheffield's water I've included it anyway.
The peak district near here is stunningly beautiful, and the flight takes in Chatsworth and the stunning rock formations at Mam Tor.
