Leeds and Sheffield Stag Weekends

Stag Weekends in Leeds

Leeds is THE most exciting happening city in the North. On a night the city-centre is turned into a giant pleasure palace, with pubs, wine bars, lap-dancing clubs and nightclubs on every corner. The mix of people is utterly eclelctic, office workers meeting with students, meeting with people who've travelled in from miles around to partake of the nightlife.

The symbol of Leeds All of which makes Leeds an absolutely perfect location for a Stag do. If you then add in the great transport links, the central location and the incredible number of adventure activities available around the city it's a natural choice.

If you're planning a stag weekend, then you can arrange it all yourself. But it's far easier to get a professional company to organise it for you. They'll pre-arrange the itinerary so you don't have trouble with awkward doormen, fall foul of dress codes or miss the nest clubs. They also make sure you get suitable accommodation so you don't clash with hotel management who just want to stop you having fun.

One company who run stag weekends in Leeds are www.lastnightoffreedom.co.uk and they organise the whole deal from beginning to end. You may have to organise a stag night once in a lifetime, but they do it every day. Just for once it's worth leaving the job to a professional.

To make a full weekend of it, you can combine all kinds of activities with the nightlife. Daytime activities currently available at Leeds include paintballing, quad biking, clay pige-n shooting and karting.  More details

Stag Weekends in Sheffield

The peace gardens at Sheffield Though only fifty miles away Sheffield has a very different culture to Leeds. While Leeds is bright, brash and anything goes, Sheffield has stayed true to its Northern roots. There's a fantastic live music scene, as you'd expect from the city that brought you the Arctic Monkeys, the Human League, Joe Cocker, ABC, Babybird, Richard Hawley, Jarvis Cocker and Def Leppard to name but a few. There's also a great club scene, including indie clubs.

The city centre has lots of  modern winebars and ersatz gin palaces, but it's also retained plenty of nice traditional real ale pubs, including the wonderful Fat Cat (within staggering distance of the centre) which is the brewery tap for the Kelham Island Brewery. Their "Pale Rider"  is one of the finest beers brewed in the Uk,  but at 5.2% is probably not the best choice for a stag do.

Sheffield hosted the World Student Games in 1991, for which they went completely crazy and spent millions on building sports facilities they still haven't finished paying for. The legacy is fantastic though, with brilliant facilities like the Don Valley Stadium, Ponds Forge swimming complex and the Sheffield Arena. Great places to spend time after a heavy night. If you really need to chill after the night before, there's more parks in Sheffield than any other city in the UK. You can even walk through parks all the way from the amazingly cool Eccleshall Road right out into the peak district.
